Good Cafe in Kl
Cafes in kl to do work (Feeka Coffee Roaster)
The word "feel" comes from the Swedish word "fika," which means "break." Taking this seriously, this cafe is a great place to relax with a cup of locally-made Coffee and get some work done. This cafe is in Jalan Mesui, close to Pizza Mansion, and is a good workplace.
It has a friendly atmosphere and great Coffee to wake you up in the morning. Those who want to be outside can sit at the table, and those who want to be inside can set up their computers inside.
Feeka Coffee Roasters is a big part of what makes Kuala Lumpur's café culture so lively. These leaders of the third wave of Coffee taught and broke down barriers, paving the way for a café scene that is now thriving. The city is full of new businesses, but only the ones with the most dedication will last. Feeka Coffee Roasters has strong roots, and many people go there when they need a coffee fix, a filling meal, a piece of cake, or just a nice place to do some work.
The word "fika," which means "to take a break," is where the word "feel" came from. And, whether they know it or not, the people who use the place embody the spirit, whether they are taking their time with a book, talking with a friend, or sitting alone with a drink and some quiet thought. People like to hang out in a patio with green plants when it's cooler in the morning or evening. During the day's heat, most people will be inside, sitting on benches, chairs, or colorful seats.
Coffee is on the menu at Feeka Coffee Roasters.
Coffee is essential here, and Feeka Coffee Roasters is proud to roast all of their beans locally. Two mixes are currently available at the café: the Feeka Blend and the Blackbird Blend. The Coffee Collective makes the first one, a special blend that can be used in drinks with or without milk. When you mix beans from Brazil and Guatemala, you get tastes like dates, caramel, and dark chocolate.
Chocolate comes to the front when mixed with milk, nut, cookies, and milk. The second, from Artisan Roastery, is also a mix that works well in black or white. Three beans from single farms in Brazil, Colombia, and Indonesia have hints of hazelnut, orange reduction, and dark chocolate.
Cappuccinos and lattes, made with espresso and milk, are all set at RM11, which is a fair price since they are all made with a double shot. Even though both mixes were good, I liked the Feeka Blend better.
Seasonal Cold Brew Coffee comes in black (RM15), white (RM12), or as a tonic brew (RM16). The second one is a cooling drink that is great for hot afternoons. The Indian Chikli beans that are used to make it bring out fruity and earthy flavors with a topping of dried orange and orange zest.
Feeka's Gold Cup Brewer lets the team get the quality of a properly brewed hand pour without the chance of mistakes and the time it takes. This machine-filtered Coffee is served in a small pot and tasted from small Chinese tea cups. This Coffee goes well with food because it tastes fruity and sweet.
The team recently added almond milk as an alternative to dairy milk, so vegans and people who don't want to eat dairy can still enjoy a creamy cup without giving anything up.
Breakfast is on the menu at Feeka Coffee Roasters.
To go with all that Coffee, there is a natural food offering. Breakfast is served from 8 am to 3 pm, and lunch and dinner are served from 12 pm to 11 pm. Even though the brekkie menu ends at 3, the store manager Hafizz says that if they still have items and a customer wants something from the morning menu later in the evening, they are happy to do so.
Pretty breakfasts can only improve the day, and the Berry Chia Pudding (RM 17) makes me happy. The crunchy granola on top covers layers of chia seed pudding, wild honey, Greek yogurt, and berries. When you use a spoon to move through the layers, you get a creamy, crunchy, sweet, and sour bite all at once.
I can't resist a good Smoothie Bowl (RM19), and Feeka Coffee Roasters has three options. Today we want something tropical, so we'll have a chilled bowl of mango, banana, coconut cream, yogurt, flax seed, coconut flakes, and granola. Rich, who is less health-conscious than I am, thinks this bowl might have made him want to order from them again.
Ricotta Pancakes (RM18) are another popular breakfast food. Five soft rounds stacked in a tower and flavored with lemon and poppy seeds.
A fruit sauce, fresh strawberries, butter, and a dusting of powdered sugar decorate the top of the spire. These are a real breakfast treats. Hafizz says you should treat yourself on a Monday to set the tone for a sweet week.
Main Dishes on the Feeka Coffee Roasters Menu
Has anyone noticed that I'm on my fourth dish, which is also vegetarian? No? Well, neither do my meat-eating friends, which shows that (in my opinion) a good recipe is about a mix of flavors and tastes and has nothing to do with whether or not it has meat. The RM20 Roasted Veggie Burger has a tower of vegetables in the middle of a fluffy, toasted matcha bun.
A big, juicy Portobello mushroom is the main attraction, and tempura onions, roasted zucchini, melted cheddar cheese, and smoked capsicum sauce play secondary parts. Thick-cut fries mixed with Parmesan cheese, pepper, salt, and parsley make the meal even heartier. It really fills you up.
Feeka Restaurant Dessert
An excellent glass case has a variety of sweets and cakes that go well with a cup of Coffee. The Almond Salted Caramel Mille Cake costs RM14 and is right out of the refrigerator. This beauty is one of the sweets that sells the most; out of the 14 different kinds of mille crepes, it is always the most popular.
Hafiz says that the 26 layers, 13 of which are crepes and 13 of which are cream, should melt in your mouth like ice cream. Rich keeps digging into the creamy layers, and I can't get enough of the browned top. Hafizz adds that a double shot of espresso goes very well with this.
Cafes in kl to do work (VCR Coffee Shop)
In Kuala Lumpur, VCR is a well-known coffee shop known for its good food and Coffee. This makes it a great place to work or study in the afternoon. Another good thing about this cafe is that VCR has more than one location in Kuala Lumpur.
If you only want to go to one of their cafes, you could go to the one in Galloway or Bangsar. A cafe in Kuala Lumpur with a strong focus on design and a range of carefully chosen coffees that are great for work.
The place is a beautiful lot with glass walls and some indoor and outdoor seats. Hooks for handbags and places to plug in devices are nice touches that show you care about your customers' comfort. You can park in the building or at the 163 Retail Park across the street.
Menu
Partner Kenneth Lee says this new idea is about "stacks of carbs," with their homemade sourdough stacked with different sweet and savory combinations. Ivan Koh, co-owner and cook, has spent the last six years improving their sourdough. They now bake seeded Japanese rye, ciabatta, and brioche loaves. In their waffles, they use the same ingredient.
Even though there are a few other things on the menu, like granola bowls and waffles, VCR Stacks is best known for sandwiches.
The Egg Sando on Bread (RM 15) might be one of the most tempting egg sandwiches I've ever seen. A free-range soft-boiled egg that sticks out of thick slices of homemade bread toast immediately looks excellent. Sliced egg, mayonnaise, onions, celery, and dill fill out the rest.
A vegetarian choice is the Zen Stacks (RM 22), which has pan-fried halloumi, feta, tomato, confit portobello, pesto hummus, and arugula on rye bread. The pesto hummus, also made from scratch, gives it a lot of flavor. The sandwiches are spread lightly with French Maison Le Gall butter and toasted to give them a slight crunch and a golden color.
The Classic Chicken (RM 22) is a great choice for lunch. On their famous seed bread, a large amount of leg meat is covered in creamy mustard mayonnaise with celery, onions, and dill. There is avocado mash, toasted almonds, lettuce, and spinach inside. I like avocados, so this one is my favorite.
The Pastrami Reuben (RM 24) will soon be on the menu. The house-roasted black Angus pastrami and the house-fermented sauerkraut are the best things about this place. The sauerkraut is just sour enough to make us want to eat it repeatedly.
Last, you should try the Nut Butter Jelly (RM 18) if you like sweets. At VCR Stacks, the seeded sourdough is covered with a thick layer of almond, cashew, and coffee butter made in-house. This butter is so good that they sell it by the jar, but they are always out! This is one delicious chew with locally grown and processed chocolate, blueberry jam made at home, and toasted walnuts.
Drinks Menu
At VCR Stacks, fermentation doesn't stop with the bread. It also happens with the drinks.
Hops give VCR Stack's Kombucha (RM 15) its flavor, and it has a lovely round, full taste. Chef Ivan compares it to drinking wine and enjoying the color, smell, and taste, so he serves it in brandy glass. It takes an entire month for this brew to ferment.
Tepache (RM 12) is another drink the VCR Stacks team is trying out. This fermented pineapple peel and rind drink comes from Mexico but is making the rounds in hip shops in Malaysia. It smells perfect and has a slice of dried pineapple on top.
In keeping with the fermentation theme, VCR Stacks has a few homemade beers. People who live in the area start their day with Coffee and end it with a cold one. Yeastie Boys Gunnamatta Earl Grey IPA (RM 32) from Wellington, New Zealand, is the beautiful-colored beer in the picture below.
This one-of-a-kind pale ale has strong flower smells and tastes of citrus and stone fruits. It ends with a dry taste that stays with you.
Coffee
Caffeine is, of course, a great option at VCR Stacks. The house mix of 70% Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Natural and 30% Brazil Primavera with an Omni roast was chosen for its delicate smoothness and thread of tanginess. It's a good mix that doesn't overpower the food but rather makes it taste better. This blend goes well with milky drinks like a Cappuccino (RM 12), while their single-origin beans work better in Cold Brew (RM 15).
Nice Cafe In Kuala Lumpur
Cafes in kl to do work (Brother Bean)
Plan to get some work done surrounded by bright green plants and lots of natural light? Then Bean Brothers is always a good choice.
At The Linc KL, Bean Brothers serve excellent Coffee in a beautiful green setting. The café is on the ground floor and has glass walls allowing people to sit inside and out. It's a pleasure to sit and sip when there are so many growing plants to look at.
Keith, the manager, says that this is only the beginning. More plants are on the way! They want to grow plants everywhere. I'm very happy about this; a good cup of Coffee makes me even more comfortable.
Coffee
Cappuccino (RM12) is a good indicator of how serious a café is. This may be the most-ordered espresso-based drink in the world. The coffee needs to be brewed just right, and the foam must also be the right consistency.
Black Suit and Velvet White are the two unique mixes of espresso that guests can choose from. The first is a mix of Brazilian and Colombian tobacco that tastes a bit darker and more chocolaty.
The latter is based on Ethiopian beans, which give it a slightly fruitier finish. I often stop here on my way to the store, and I can say that the cups are always the same and that the baristas are good at what they do.
Pour-over coffees cost RM14 and can be made with a V60, an Aeropress, or a Clever. They come with a tasting card that tells a little bit about the Coffee so guests can learn more about it while enjoying it. For coffee lovers, you could try the same bean twice, using a different way to get the Coffee out each time.
Bean Brothers The Linc has only been open for four months, and at first, there were only five food items on the menu. Even though the menu has slowly added and taken away things over the past few weeks, it is still a short list that is easy to read and choose from. Chef Jan says the meals are based in the West but have an Asian twist.
Since they were severe about Coffee, they wanted the food to be as good as the Coffee and not just a bonus. Keith says, "Food doesn't just represent a country or culture; it can also represent a café or cook." Jan, who used to be a barista, backs this up by saying, "Coffee and food are similar in that we're speaking with our customers through flavors but in a different way."
Breakfast
Bean Brothers has three food options: chicken, beef, or eggs. These can be eaten as a salad or wrapped in a tortilla. The Egg and Vegas (RM15) immediately caught my eye because of its bright colors.
It's a good choice and makes me feel great. It has sweet potato, tempeh, a quarter-boiled egg, cheddar cheese, mesclun mix salad, tiny cubes of feta, and Thai sweet chili sauce.
The Menu
Try the Grilled Polenta-coated Seabass (RM32) for something to eat later in the day. Polenta gives the meat a beautiful coat and keeps it moist. The yellow dhal on the side is nice and hard, and it has a nice thread of curry that gives it a slow, pleasant heat—a final topping of pea sprouts with pesto rounds out the warm yellow. Pesto dots frame the dish in a pretty way, like a painting. This is something I would order again.
The next meal, Jalapeo Crab Pasta (RM34), looks good, especially since the crab is already cleaned. The pickled jalapeno, anchovies, olives, and white wine all add to the fresh taste of the crab. A few leaves of parsley on top make it look nice. Just before serving, lemon juice is squeezed on top to give it a nice acidic touch.
Lastly, Bean Brothers' Asian Sauce Noodles (RM9) is one of their easiest and most comforting meals. Thin strands of noodles are covered in a "secret sauce" and topped with chopped chicken cooked in a stir-fry. Shredded scallions break up the browns of dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, Tabasco sauce, and scallion oil. The sauce has more than 10 ingredients, but the rest are a secret.

Cafe In Klang Valley
Cafes in kl to do work (LOKL Coffee)
LOKL Coffee Co. on Jalan Tun HS Lee in Kuala Lumpur may have gotten many tourists by now, but it's still one of the locals' favorite coffee shops.
Atmosphere: LOKL Coffee is busy on the weekend, and it's usually full by 10 am. Do arrive early to avoid waiting.
Food: "Big Breakfast," "Summer Pasta with Smoked Chicken," "Beetroot Pesto Pink Pasta," "Smoked Brisket Hash," "Granola Bowl," "Breakfast Salad," "Green Smoothie Bowl," "Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs with Broccoli," "Thai Breakfast Omelette," "Truffle Croque Madame," "Smoked Salmon and Cheese Bagels," "Frittata,"
Coffee: The coffee menu at LOKL Cafe is thoughtfully split into Western Coffee and Local Coffee. Western Coffee is a hipster third-wave style, with drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos. The Local Coffee, on the other hand, is a great way to introduce tourists to our traditional Kopi O and Kopi Susu.
But if you don't like Coffee, try Orange Juice, Apple Carrot Ginger, Coconut Cucumber Lime, Spiced Watermelon & Mint, Passion Fruit Soda, Ice Lemon & Ginger Rooibos Tea, English Breakfast Tea, Green Tea, Camellia Tea, or Peppermint Tea.
Parking: LOKL Coffee Co. is on a busy road, and there is little or no parking there. So, the best way to get there is to get off at LRT Masjid Jamek, which is just a short walk away. But if you'd rather drive, you can park 2 minutes from the cafe.
Look for a giant painting of a boy with a sampan. The parking is right next to it. The price is RM5.50 per hour, which is not cheap but is typical for Petaling Street or other areas in the center of Kuala Lumpur. Sigh.

Cafe In Petaling Jaya
Kaffe 16
Kaffe 16 Kwai Chai Hong is a new cafe development by Beryl's Lot 18, right next door. You can now go shopping for Beryl's chocolate and have a nice cup of hot chocolate right after.
It's great to see how Beryl's, the country's most popular chocolate brand, keeps growing and adapting to new tastes and modern packaging and now selling its chocolate in a cafe. The idea of starting Beryl's Lot 18 near Petaling Street (just a two-minute walk from MRT Pasar Seni) could get tourists to know more about our local brand, but not right now. Things will get back to normal one day.
Besides the chocolate, their sister store, Kaffe 16, caught our attention. Like many other bars in Kwai Chai Hong, both the inside and the food are good for Instagram. Lol. Take pictures while you're here so you can post them on Instagram.
Besides espresso-based black and white Coffee, their hot chocolate is a must-try from their food and drink menu. Every sip is soothing and warm, and it's best on a cold, wet day.
There are only a few savory food choices on the Kaffe 16 menu, but there are enough for a complete meal. Order anything from Chicken Katsu Don to Japanese Curry Rice, Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Spicy Tomato Prawn Spaghetti, Cream Leek with Roasted Chicken Fettuccine, Tomato-based Mediterranean Spaghetti, Karaage Chicken Burger, and Kaffe 16 Salad.
Prices for main courses range from RM16 to less than RM30. We didn't try any because we would already check out Lai Foong Lala Noodles on Petaling Street, where they opened their second shop. But we will go back to check them out again soon.
